David Ingram is an Associate Professor of Theater and Head of Theater Studies at Temple University’s School of Theater, Film and Media Arts. He teaches undergraduate courses such as Acting II, World of the Play, and graduate-level classes on Michael Chekhov Technique and Teaching in Higher Education. He co-produces the annual New Voices festival, a 35-year collaboration with Philadelphia Young Playwrights showcasing student-written plays, and oversees their Saturday reading series. Ingram is a Faculty Fellow at Temple’s Teaching and Learning Center, chairs the University’s Lectures and Forums Committee, and serves on the Writing Intensive Course Committee.
Outside academia, he has extensive theater credits as an actor and director with companies like People’s Light and Theatre, Arden Theater, and Wilma Theater. His professional work spans over three decades, reflecting his dual commitment to education and performance.
