David Huth serves as Professor of Visual Communication and Media Arts in the School of Business at Houghton University, where he has been a faculty member since 2006 following his MFA in Computer Graphics Design.
His academic credentials include a BA in Art from Houghton College and an MFA in Computer Graphics Design. Prior to academia, he worked as a comic book colorist, children's book salesperson, strawberry picker, freelance window dresser, staff artist at a community newspaper, and Houghton's public relations graphic artist and college photographer.
Huth's research focuses on digital video and personal media that amplifies traditionally excluded voices through online platforms. His creative passions center on video blogging, digital storytelling, and person-centered mass communication, with contributions including a book chapter and conference presentations. Outside academia, Huth enjoys running, hiking, reading Douglas Coupland novels, watching Martin Scorsese films, exploring religious faith with his church community, and gourmet veggie pizza. He is married to Lori Huth, a fellow Houghton faculty member, and they are raising a daughter.
