David Hurwood

Associate Professor David Hurwood is affiliated with the School of Biology & Environmental Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His research focuses on genetics, evolutionary biology, and aquaculture, particularly in aquatic species such as prawns, fish, and crustaceans. He holds a PhD in Genetics from Griffith University and has contributed extensively to understanding genetic adaptation mechanisms in aquatic organisms.

Research interests include freshwater adaptation in prawns, domestication genetics of penaeid shrimp, and the impact of environmental factors (e.g., salinity, temperature) on aquaculture species.
