David Hulme is Professor of Development Studies at the University of Manchester, serving as Executive Director of the Global Development Institute and CEO of the Effective States and Inclusive Development Research Centre (ESID). His work focuses on poverty reduction strategies, microfinance, political economy analysis, and environmental management. He has over 30 years of experience across South Asia, East Africa, and the Pacific, with a primary focus on Bangladesh.
Education:
- PhD in Land Settlement Schemes and Rural Development (James Cook University, 1984)
