معرفی
David Heath-Brown is Professor of Pure Mathematics at the University of Oxford, holding this position since 1999. Previously, he served as Reader (ad hominem) from 1990-1998 and CUF Lecturer from 1979-1990 at Oxford University.
His research focuses on analytic number theory and diophantine geometry, with significant contributions to prime number theory, character sums, and rational points on algebraic varieties. His work often bridges analytic methods with geometric structures in number theory.
His publications demonstrate sustained excellence in fundamental number theory problems, particularly concerning prime distribution in polynomial forms and mean value estimates for arithmetic functions. The research shows progressive deepening of analytic techniques applied to classical diophantine problems.
- Fellow of the Royal Society (1993)
- Polya Prize, London Mathematical Society (2009)
- Fellow of the American Mathematical Society (2012)

He has supervised over twenty research students including prominent mathematicians such as James Maynard (Fields Medalist). His academic service includes extensive reviewing for Mathematical Reviews and editorial contributions to major mathematical publications. Heath-Brown maintains active participation in international number theory conferences and summer schools worldwide.
