David Graham is an internationally recognized Organ Professor at the Royal College of Music (RCM), leading organ studies and overseeing annual study trips to France, the Netherlands, and Germany. He serves as Organist and Director of Music at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Farm Street, London, working with a professional choir and commissioning contemporary works. His expertise spans organ performance, historical practices, and choral conducting, with recordings featuring works by Dupré, Franck, and contemporary composers like Huw Watkins and Gabriel Jackson.
Education: Studied organ at Methodist College Belfast with Desmond Hunter, earned a scholarship to the RCM under Nicholas Danby, and pursued postgraduate studies at the Sweelinck Conservatorium (Amsterdam), and with Naji Hakim (Paris) and Peter Planyavsky (Vienna). Research interests include contemporary organ repertoire, improvisation, and early performance practices.
Performance highlights include international tours across Europe, the USA, and Asia, premieres at Notre Dame and St Sulpice (Paris), and a 2015 recording of choral works by Bruch, Rheinberger, and Gretchaninov. A new recording on the Bishop/Willis organ is planned.
Teaching focuses on nurturing young organists, many of whom achieve international competition success and cathedral positions. Graham actively promotes new music through commissions and interdisciplinary collaborations.
