David Goodman is Acting Dean, Director of the Bachelor of Architectural Studies and the Master of Architecture, and Professor of Architecture at the IE School of Architecture and Design in Madrid and Segovia, Spain. He is affiliated with the School of Architecture at Princeton University through lecture engagements.
- Doctorate in Business Administration (Strategic Management and Organization Theory) from IE Business School
- Graduate of Harvard Graduate School of Design and Cornell University
His research focuses on innovations in architectural practice during socioeconomic turbulence and the role of totalitarian regimes in institutionalizing social inequalities through building methods. He co-authored An Introduction to Architecture Theory: 1968 to the Present and has published work in the journals Log, A+T, Journal of Architectural Education, and Technology | Architecture + Design, as well as anthologies like Chicago Architecture: Histories, Revisions, Alternatives and Walter Netsch: A Critical Appreciation.
Goodman has previously taught at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Harvard Graduate School of Design, and the Boston Architectural College. He worked at Rafael Moneo's office in Madrid and co-founded the Chicago-based R+D Studio. His professional affiliations include the Jean Labatut Memorial Lectures in Architecture and Urban Planning Fund, and he participates in AIA Continuing Education programs.
