David Goldblum is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Tourism Studies at Brock University. He holds a B.A. in Geography from UCLA (1988), an M.A. in Geography from the University of Colorado (1990), and a Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Colorado (1994). His research focuses on biogeography and forest ecology, examining how natural and human-induced disturbances (e.g., climate change, logging, invasive species) impact ecosystems like forests and grasslands. Current projects investigate urban tree responses to climate change in Southwestern Ontario, prioritizing sustainable urban forest management.
Goldblum’s work spans global field studies, including fire ecology in Colorado, Alberta, and Australia, as well as invasive species research in Illinois and Alberta. His expertise bridges ecological and urban environmental challenges, emphasizing climate resilience and conservation strategies. He contributes to academic discourse through teaching and applied research in environmental geography.
