David Gilman Romano

David Gilman Romano is a Professor in the Department of Classics & Religious Studies at the University of Arizona, part of the College of Humanities. He directs the Archaeological Mapping Lab, focusing on digital cartography, GIS, remote sensing, and spatial analysis. His research interests include ancient Greek and Roman cities, sanctuaries, architecture, and athletics, with a particular emphasis on the integration of technology in archaeological studies.

Key projects include the Mt. Lykaion Excavation and Survey Project, exploring the Sanctuary of Zeus, and the Corinth Computer Project, reconstructing Roman Corinth's urban landscape. He has also contributed to studies of athletic facilities, such as stadia and hippodromes, and the application of mathematical principles in ancient urban planning.
