David G Bermudes is a Professor in the Department of Biology within the College of Science and Mathematics at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). His research focuses on developing tumor-targeting bacterial therapies for cancer treatment, with particular emphasis on genetically modified Salmonella strains.
His educational background includes a Ph.D. from Boston University (1987) and a B.A. from Oberlin College (1982). His laboratory employs biochemical, cell and molecular biological techniques to engineer bacteria with enhanced tumor-targeting capabilities and anticancer efficacy.
Research interests center on therapeutic bacteria for cancer therapy, with specific focus on:
