David Forehand is Lecturer in Engineering Mathematics and Fluid Dynamics at the University of Edinburgh's School of Engineering. His research focuses on wave energy conversion technologies, hydrodynamic modeling, and offshore renewable energy systems. Recent work includes experimental mooring characterization (2025), tidal turbine modeling in wave-current environments (2024), and optimization of wave energy converter arrays.
He participates in projects such as Holistic Advanced Prototyping and Interfacing for Wave Energy Control (EPSRC) and investigates dielectric elastomer generators for wave energy applications.
