David Fenyo is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, and Director of the Biomedical Informatics Masters Training Program and Systems and Computational Biomedicine PhD Training Program. He holds a PhD from Uppsala University and completed postdoctoral training at Rockefeller University's Chait Lab.
His research focuses on integrating multi-omics data (proteomics, genomics, imaging) to understand cellular processes in health and disease, with applications in cancer biology, spatial omics, and retrotransposon dynamics. Key contributions include developing computational tools like QUILTS, PGx, and CANVAS for proteogenomic analysis and spatial data interpretation.
Teaching responsibilities include courses in Machine Learning, Quantitative Biology, and Proteomics Informatics at the Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences. His lab's work spans tumor biology, immunology, and synthetic biology through collaborations with CPTAC and the Dark Matter Project.
David Fenyo's lab has produced over 260 publications, with recent work highlighting biomarker discovery in melanoma, immune reconstitution in multiple sclerosis, and LINE-1 transposon profiling in human sperm.
