David Farrugia

David Farrugia is a Professor in the Department of Counseling and Human Services at Canisius University's School of Education and Leadership Studies. A counselor educator with expertise in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling, he integrates his professional experience from private practice and consulting with schools/mental health agencies into his teaching. His work spans positive psychology, trauma counseling, and ethical considerations in counseling practices.

His research focuses on chronic pain management, trauma-informed approaches for children, applications of positive psychology in educational settings, and ethical frameworks in counseling. Publications highlight interdisciplinary connections between mental health, education, and moral philosophy.
