David Edwards is a Senior Lecturer in Digital Mental Health (Aboriginal Researcher & Group Facilitator) at the University of Sydney's University Centre for Rural Health in Lismore, NSW. He leads the WellMob Indigenous Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) website and works with the e-Mental Health in Practice (eMHPrac) consortium. His roles include directing national health workforce development initiatives and consulting on Indigenous health content. He is affiliated with the Charles Perkins Centre, Matilda Centre, and Sydney Health Literacy Lab.
Research interests focus on culturally embedded digital health interventions for Aboriginal communities, leveraging AI and new technologies to address social determinants of health. He emphasizes cultural safety in healthcare systems and the interconnection between Indigenous cultural practices and health outcomes.
