Professor David Dyzenhaus (born 1957 in Johannesburg) is a leading academic in legal philosophy and constitutional law, currently serving as Professor of Law at the Department of Law, University of Toronto (1998–present). He completed his D.Phil at Oxford (1988) and held visiting roles at institutions including Cambridge (2014–15). His work bridges Weimar-era legal theory, emergency law, and the rule of law in post-apartheid and transitional contexts.
