معرفی
David Dulin is an Assistant Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the Faculty of Science's Physics of Living Systems department and the LaserLaB - Molecular Biophysics research group. His research focuses on biophysical mechanisms of nucleic acid interactions, viral replication dynamics, and the development of advanced single-molecule techniques such as magnetic tweezers. He explores topics including RNA structure under mechanical stress, SARS-CoV-2 polymerase function, and innate immune signaling pathways triggered by viral RNA. Dulin has contributed to methods for high-throughput analysis of biomolecular interactions and authored chapters in Single Molecule Analysis: Methods and Protocols (2024). He teaches Advanced Biophysics and Mechanics and Thermodynamics in the Cell. His work integrates computational modeling (e.g., molecular dynamics simulations) with experimental approaches to dissect molecular mechanisms at the single-molecule level.
Research highlights include revealing temperature-dependent RNA structural changes and elucidating the assembly pathways of viral replication complexes. Collaborations span virology, biochemistry, and biophysics, with recent studies addressing coronavirus replication fidelity and immune evasion strategies. Dulin’s lab develops novel instrumentation for force-sensitive assays, emphasizing precision in biomolecule characterization.
