Prof David Dritschel is a Professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of St Andrews, affiliated with the Vortex Dynamics Research Group. His research focuses on combining theoretical analysis and numerical computation to study atmospheric and oceanic fluid dynamics, particularly vortex dynamics and potential vorticity conservation. Key areas include numerical methods for shallow-water flows, gravity wave dynamics, and three-dimensional stratified flows.
