David Donnan is an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability (MSES) Program at Northwestern University. He is an accomplished business leader and consultant with significant global experience in the agriculture, food, and retail industries. At Kearney, a global management-consulting firm, he served as a Partner in their global food & beverage practice for a decade and now holds an Emeritus title.
- Education: Masters in Business Administration from the Rotman School at the University of Toronto.
Research and Professional Focus: David specializes in technology and supply chain strategies, brand growth, and market positioning within the food sector. He champions innovation, actively mentoring entrepreneurs and startups in agriculture and food systems. His advisory roles include the Global Midwest Alliance, Spiral Sun Investments, Good Food Accelerator, Rubicon Organics, Family Farmed, and Naturally Chicago. He also serves as a Public Board Member of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Teaching: He teaches ISEN 471 Sustainable Food and ISEN 473 The Future of Food and Agriculture at Northwestern, focusing on sustainability in the food industry.
