David Della-Giustina, MD, is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Vice Chair for Education at Yale School of Medicine. He leads the Emergency Medicine Residency Program, Wilderness Medicine Fellowship, and Educational Leadership Fellowship, overseeing 76 residents annually. With 29 years of U.S. Army service, including combat deployments, he specializes in wilderness medicine, tactical medicine, and medical education innovation. His research focuses on resident feedback systems, simulation curricula, and interprofessional education. He holds leadership roles in program director coaching and has developed the WISER Approach to GME leadership. Clinical expertise includes orthopedic emergencies and austere environment care.
