David Charles Goyette

David Charles Goyette is an Associate Teaching Professor of Business Communication and Acting at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business. He teaches Acting for Business across MBA and undergraduate programs, focusing on applying theatrical techniques to enhance executive presence, communication, and leadership. Previously, he was a Tenured Associate Professor of Theatre and Department Chair at Truman State University. His professional experience spans theatre directing (e.g., with The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Arena Stage) and corporate training (e.g., The Jack Morton Company for Mastercard and AstraZeneca).

Education: MFA in Directing from University of Texas at Austin (2003), BFA in Drama from Carnegie Mellon University (1997).

Research & Activities: Specializes in bridging theatre arts with business communication. Leads workshops on Executive Presence and Improvisation for organizations like Mahindra Group and Carnegie Mellon’s Executive Education. Active in committee service, including Tepper’s Undergraduate Business Program Curriculum Review and MBA student outreach.
