David Calderbank is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Bath, where he actively accepts doctoral students. His research focuses on geometric representation theory, integrable systems, and special structures in differential and algebraic geometry. He has been Principal Investigator (PI) on three projects funded by the London Mathematical Society between 2015-2015, including 'Gluing Techniques in Complex Geometry,' 'Vertex Operator Algebras,' and collaborative research with Dr E Legendre. His work spans advanced topics in geometry, with notable contributions to projective geometry, CR structures, and metrizability theories.
Research interests include the interplay between geometry and physics, particularly in integrable systems, and the study of extremal metrics in Kähler and Sasaki geometries. His projects emphasize interdisciplinary collaboration, reflecting his expertise in both pure and applied geometric problems.
