David Busolo

Dr. David Busolo is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of New Brunswick and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University. His research program focuses on health promotion and cancer prevention among immigrant and refugee populations, with particular emphasis on healthcare access barriers and culturally competent interventions.

His funded projects include improving mammography access for Syrian refugee women, examining cancer screening participation among newcomers, and developing nature-based wellbeing approaches for immigrant communities. Dr. Busolo employs community-engaged methodologies and qualitative approaches to address health disparities.

He has received recognition including the McCain Foundation Young Scholar Award and serves on scientific advisory committees including the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute. His work informs policy development, including contributions to cultural safety standards for nursing practice.
