معرفی
David Broun is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Simon Fraser University. His research focuses on superconductivity, including phase-disordered superconductivity, quantum criticality in cuprates, microwave spectroscopy of heavy fermion superconductors, dynamics of superconducting flux lines, and nanostructuring of superconductors for vortex manipulation. He leads the Broun Lab Group, advising two Ph.D. candidates: Joseph Chouinard and Ulas Ozdemir. Broun holds a B.Sc. from the University of Western Australia and a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge.
His work utilizes advanced techniques such as scanning Hall-probe microscopy and employs cutting-edge materials engineering to study vortex dynamics. Despite no current teaching assignments, he contributes to the SFU Physics community through research leadership and lab infrastructure. The Broun Lab collaborates on projects involving superconducting materials and quantum critical phenomena, reflecting his commitment to advancing condensed matter physics.
