David Bowman

Dr. David Bowman, M.D., is a board-certified pediatrician and lifestyle medicine physician affiliated with Howard University College of Medicine, where he serves on the faculty in the Department of Pediatrics. He previously directed the Student Health Center at Howard University for two years, demonstrating leadership in student wellness and clinical administration.

His educational background includes undergraduate studies at Howard University and medical training at Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by residency at Children's National in Washington, D.C. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Nutritional Sciences at Howard University to further strengthen his expertise in nutrition and preventive care.

He currently serves as co-chair of the Health Equity Achieved by Lifestyle (HEAL) Initiative under ACLM, focusing on reducing disparities through evidence-based lifestyle interventions.

He integrates faith and medicine in his health promotion efforts, working with churches and community organizations to empower individuals and healthcare providers. His career reflects a strong commitment to preventive, equitable, and patient-centered care grounded in lifestyle interventions.

Dr. Bowman has held significant roles in both domestic and international health settings. His early career emphasized global health, particularly in the management and prevention of HIV in underserved populations across Africa and the Caribbean. He combines clinical practice, education, and advocacy to advance the field of lifestyle medicine within academic and community contexts.
