معرفی
David Bishop is a Clinical Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney's Westmead Clinical School, Department of Medicine. His expertise lies in haematological malignancies and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. He holds degrees in Medical Science (molecular biology) and Medicine from the University of Sydney, with Haematology training at Westmead Hospital.
His research focuses on cell and gene therapy, particularly chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cells for treating haematological malignancies, and donor-derived T-cells to restore immunity post-transplant. Key projects include optimizing CAR T-cell generation methods and investigating prophylactic immunotherapies to reduce post-transplant complications.
Recent work includes studies on CAR T-cell differentiation dynamics and the development of non-viral transfection techniques for CAR engineering. His publications span 2003–2025, addressing topics from basic immunology to clinical trial outcomes.
He leads the COMITTAL34 grant (2025) exploring CD34-selected stem cells combined with T-cell therapies, and a Leukaemia Foundation grant (2023) on off-the-shelf CAR NK-cells.
