Dr. David Bate is a Reader in Mathematics at the University of Warwick specializing in geometric measure theory and real analysis. His research focuses on characterizing rectifiable metric spaces and investigating Lipschitz function perturbations.
He has made significant contributions to understanding the geometric structure of metric spaces through tangent space analysis, with publications in top mathematics journals. His 2022 paper provides new characterizations of rectifiable metric spaces using tangent spaces.
Dr. Bate was awarded the prestigious Whitehead Prize by the London Mathematical Society in 2023. He is funded by an ERC Starting Grant focusing on modern aspects of geometric measure theory.
