David Bachrach is a Professor of History at the University of New Hampshire. He specializes in the administrative and military history of medieval Germany and England, with a focus on the Carolingian, Ottonian, and Salian periods. His research examines royal governance, military organization, and the intersection of law, religion, and warfare.
Education: B.A. in History from Carleton College, M.A. and Ph.D. in History from the University of Notre Dame.
Teaching includes courses on medieval military history, early medieval Europe, and Viking studies. He has authored numerous books and articles, including *Warfare in Medieval Europe* (2016) and *Deeds of the Bishops of Cambrai* (2017). Recent research explores fortification economics, crossbow usage in England, and Ottonian military policies.
