David Atkins is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. He has over 41 years of private law practice experience, most recently as a partner at Pullman & Comley, LLC, leading the Professional Liability Section and chairing the Litigation Department (2013–2015). His expertise includes legal malpractice, attorney ethics, risk management, and professional liability disputes. He serves as a mediator for professional service disputes and frequently contributes to bar association programs as an expert witness and speaker.

Atkins focuses on professional responsibility, attorney regulation, and the 'law of lawyering,' delivering CLE programs nationally and internationally. He taught Lawyers’ Professional Responsibility at Quinnipiac University School of Law (2022) and has been a guest lecturer at Yale and UConn Law Schools. His work spans legal ethics, disciplinary proceedings, and law firm governance.
He clerked for Hon. Almeric L. Christian (U.S. District Court for the Virgin Islands, 1981–1983) and served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.
