David Allden is a Senior Lecturer in Secondary Education at the University of Wolverhampton's School of Education. He serves as the Subject Lead for Secondary Science, Interim Secondary PGCE Programme Leader, and Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) lead, with 2 years in his current role. Prior to this, he worked in secondary schools for over a decade, holding department-level and senior leadership positions.

His research focuses on science education in schools, particularly improving the teaching of physics to non-specialist educators. He trains new science teachers across undergraduate, postgraduate, and school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programs and provides CPD to secondary schools on science-related themes.
