David Aadland is a Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for Business and Economic Analysis (CBEA) at the University of Wyoming's College of Business. He holds a PhD from the University of Oregon and has held academic leadership roles including Department Head and Director of Graduate Studies. His research spans macroeconomics, environmental economics, and interdisciplinary natural resource questions, with a focus on ecological, epidemiological, and energy development impacts.
Education includes a PhD (1997), MS (1996), and BA (1991) in Economics, complemented by Mathematics training. His teaching portfolio includes advanced courses in econometrics, macroeconomic theory, and applied economics.
Research interests emphasize the intersection of economics with ecology and epidemiology, particularly chronic wasting disease, pine beetle epidemics, and energy development's ecological effects. Recent work explores policy implications of pollution taxes, disease management, and ecosystem valuation.
