He holds a PhD and Master of Science in Mineral and Energy Economics, along with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering, all from the Colorado School of Mines.
His educational background includes:
- PhD in Mineral and Energy Economics, Colorado School of Mines
- MSc in Mineral and Energy Economics, Colorado School of Mines
- BSc in Petroleum Engineering, Colorado School of Mines
Gebben's research spans nuclear energy systems, groundwater resource management, oil industry economic incentives, and unconventional lithium extraction methodologies. He investigates how energy sectors adapt to policy shifts, natural resource constraints, and market dynamics through an interdisciplinary lens combining engineering principles with economic analysis. His work emphasizes practical applications for resource-dependent economies.
Prior to joining CBEA, Gebben collaborated on research initiatives with the Critical Materials Institute and the United States Department of Agriculture. His current projects continue to analyze energy policy impacts and resource management strategies relevant to Wyoming's economic landscape.
As a core researcher at the Center for Business and Economic Analysis, Gebben contributes to state-focused economic modeling and stakeholder engagement, supporting decision-making for Wyoming's energy and natural resource industries through data-driven analysis.
