Dr. Williams' research centers on worship identity formation through music, examining historical Adventist practices (1840-1944) while analyzing contemporary praise movements. His work bridges liturgical theology, music history, and practical ministry, with particular focus on Adventist hymnody, comparative denominational worship, and music's role in spiritual communities. Recent publications demonstrate growing engagement with Anabaptist-Adventist worship comparisons and contemporary liturgical renewal.
His 18 research outputs show consistent scholarly activity, with 5 recent publications (2024-2025) indicating active contribution to worship studies discourse. These works reveal evolving interests from historical analysis toward practical applications in modern worship contexts, particularly regarding community formation through musical practice.
As Co-Director of the International Center for Worship & Music, Dr. Williams provides students with unique opportunities to integrate academic study with practical ministry. His leadership of the Seminary Chorus and active church ministry create pathways for hands-on experience in worship design, musical direction, and theological reflection on congregational practice.
