Jiri Moskala serves as Professor of Old Testament Exegesis and Theology and Dean of the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. A faculty member since 1999, he has established himself as a respected scholar in biblical studies with particular expertise in the Old Testament.
Dr. Moskala's academic journey began at the Protestant Theological Faculty of Charles University (formerly Comenius Faculty of Protestant Theology) in the Czech Republic, where he earned his BA, MTh, and ThD. He completed his PhD at Andrews University in 1998. Before joining Andrews, he established and served as principal of the Theological Seminary for training pastors in the Czech Republic following the Velvet Revolution.
His research interests center on Old Testament exegesis with specialized focus on the Book of Daniel, Levitical law, biblical commandments, and apocalyptic literature. Dr. Moskala's scholarly approach combines historical-critical methods with theological interpretation within the Seventh-day Adventist tradition. His recent publications (2025) demonstrate continued engagement with biblical interpretation, particularly examining connections between Anabaptist theology, Seventh-day Adventist perspectives, and biblical commandments.
Dr. Moskala has produced an impressive body of work with 248 research outputs including 79 articles, 68 book chapters, and numerous presentations. His publications span biblical studies, theological interpretation, and contemporary ethical applications of biblical principles. His work shows consistent exploration of how ancient biblical texts inform modern theological understanding and ethical practice.

As Dean of the Seminary, he oversees academic programs while continuing his teaching and research in Old Testament studies.
