David A. Scheinberg

David A. Scheinberg, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist and Professor at Weill-Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). He holds the Vincent Astor Chair and serves as Deputy Director for Therapeutic Discovery at the Sloan Kettering Institute (SKI), Chair of the Experimental Therapeutics Center, and co-chair of the Pharmacology Graduate Program. His research focuses on immunotherapy, cancer vaccines, and targeted therapies, including monoclonal antibodies, alpha particle therapies, and nanotechnology-based treatments. He has developed eight therapeutic agents that advanced to clinical trials, such as first-in-class antibodies for acute leukemia and targeted alpha therapies.

Education: MD/PhD from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Residencies at New York Hospital/Cornell, fellowship at MSK. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.

Research Interests: Discovery of novel immunotherapies, including TCR-mimic antibodies targeting intracellular oncogenic proteins (e.g., WT1), targeted radiopharmaceuticals, and nanodevices. His work spans leukemia, solid tumors, and cellular resistance mechanisms. Notable contributions include the first humanized anti-leukemia antibodies and alpha particle therapies.

Awards: Includes the Doris Duke Distinguished Clinical Science Professorship, Emil J. Freireich Award, and election to prestigious societies like the American Society of Clinical Investigation.

Grants & Collaborations: Founded the Tri-Institutional Therapeutics Discovery Institute (MSK, Cornell, Rockefeller) and Experimental Therapeutics Center. Active in biotech advisory roles and clinical trials. His lab oversees multiple projects, including CAR T-cell engineering and targeted nanomedicines.
