David A. Dunn

David A. Dunn is Associate Professor and Advisement Coordinator in Biological Sciences at SUNY Oswego. His research specializes in transgenic animal technology, mitochondrial disease modeling, and applications of stem cell biotechnology.

Research domains:

• Transgenic models of mitochondrial disorders
• Germ cell transplantation for aquaculture
• Biomimetic materials for cardiac regeneration
• Environmental DNA monitoring techniques

Publications reflect interdisciplinary work spanning aquaculture biotechnology, mitochondrial genetics, and environmental DNA applications. Recent studies include wildlife ecology investigations of snow geese migration and sea lamprey control.

Teaches physiology, biotechnology, and animal science courses. As Advisement Coordinator, oversees academic guidance for biology students. Mentors undergraduate researchers in molecular biology and ecology projects.
