معرفی
Professor Dave Chadwick is a Professor of Sustainable Land Use Systems at Bangor University’s School of Environmental and Natural Sciences. His research focuses on optimizing nutrient utilization from livestock manures and organic resources while minimizing environmental impacts such as greenhouse gas emissions and water pollution. He leads projects like the NERC Uplands-N2O initiative and the STARS Centre for Doctoral Training. His work integrates policy, practice, and science to address global agricultural challenges, including microplastic pollution and sustainable land management.
Chadwick holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Lancaster University (1990–1995) and a BSc in Agriculture and Environmental Science from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (1984–1987). His research spans soil health, climate-smart agriculture, and agriplastic impacts, with collaborations through the UK-China Sustainable Agriculture Innovation Network (SAIN).
Key interests include mitigating greenhouse gases, reducing agricultural pollution, and exploring sustainable practices. Recent studies address plastic mulch degradation, biochar applications, and microplastic effects on soil ecosystems. He advises postgraduate students and secures grants for projects such as the GCRF-funded study on agricultural microplastics.
Chadwick’s interdisciplinary approach includes field studies, lab experiments, and policy engagement. He is affiliated with the Environment Centre Wales and collaborates across disciplines to advance sustainable land use solutions.
