معرفی
Dr. Dave Cameron is a Lecturer in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Sheffield's School of Information, Journalism and Communication. He holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD from the University of Sheffield, all in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. Prior to his current role, he worked in the Department of Psychology on social, health, and developmental psychology research before joining Sheffield Robotics in 2014 to explore Human-Robot Interaction (HRI). Since 2018, he has been dedicated to advancing HCI and HRI, focusing on user experiences with autonomous systems and collaborative work.
Dr. Cameron’s academic background includes:
- BSc in Psychology from the University of Sheffield
- MSc in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Sheffield
- PhD in Psychology from the University of Sheffield, focusing on computational models of emotion regulation and social network dynamics
His research interests center on understanding user experiences in interactions with technology, particularly in human-robot collaboration and trust dynamics. Key areas include children’s perceptions of social robots, the design of graphical interfaces for effective human-robot teamwork, and the application of affective computing in health behaviors. He leads the HCI component of the ROBO-GUIDE project and explores trust models involving deployers, users, and robots. Recent work evaluates new graphical languages for safe collaborative robotics and the use of LEGO® Serious Play® in stakeholder engagement for responsible robotics design.
In teaching, Dr. Cameron focuses on Human-Computer Interaction and has secured grants, including a £7,000 award to develop novel interfaces for mobile robot control across Science and Engineering disciplines. He teaches modules such as User-Centred Design and contributes to research methods courses.
He collaborates with interdisciplinary teams like Sheffield Robotics and the ROBO-GUIDE project, emphasizing ethical and inclusive design in robotics. His work intersects with the Information School’s focus on responsible data science and user-centered technologies.
