Dashun Wang is a Professor at both the Kellogg School of Management and the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University. He is the Founding Co-Director of the Ryan Institute on Complexity, Founding Director of the Center for Science of Science and Innovation (CSSI), and a core faculty member at the Northwestern Institute on Complex Systems (NICO). His interdisciplinary work bridges management, engineering, and data science to study the science of science.
His research focuses on using tools from complexity sciences and artificial intelligence to understand scientific innovation, discovery, and the dynamics of knowledge creation. This includes exploring patterns in scientific careers, team formation, breakthrough discoveries, and the impact of research. His work is highly influential and has been published in Nature and Science.
