Dasharah Green is a Presidential Research Fellow and adjunct faculty member in the Black and Latino/a Studies Department at Baruch College, part of The City University of New York (CUNY) system. She is concurrently a Ph.D. candidate in English, researching the genealogy of Black women's storytelling traditions.
Her educational foundation includes:
- Bachelor of Arts in English (Honors) with double minors in Africana Studies (Honors) and Political Science from John Jay College
- Master of Arts in English from St. John's University (2020)
Green's scholarship critically examines how Black women writers from the early 20th century to present construct borderless literary cultures through innovative archival reimagining. Her work synthesizes Africana Studies, English Literature, and Political Science frameworks, drawing directly from her upbringing in Brooklyn's pre-gentrified Bedford Stuyvesant neighborhood to analyze intersections of Blackness in historical and contemporary contexts. This research bridges literary theory, cultural studies, and community-engaged pedagogy.
Her recognition includes:
- Presidential Research Fellow through the Public Scholarship Practice Space (PS2)
Green actively participates in the CUNY Adjunct Incubator program, supported by The Center for the Humanities and the Gittell Urban Studies Collective, which advances community-engaged scholarship among CUNY adjunct faculty. She contributes to academic community building through PS2 events including TLC x PS2 Sip n Chat gatherings focused on public scholarship.
