Darryl Stroud

Darryl Stroud is an Adjunct Professor at National Louis University, teaching courses in public safety, justice systems, and public administration. He holds multiple advanced degrees including a DBA from Argosy University, post-doctoral training from Harvard University, and certifications from Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command. Stroud has extensive law enforcement experience, having served as Chief of Police in multiple departments including University Park Police Department and Chicago Heights Park District Police Department. He has also held leadership roles as Deputy Chief at Phoenix Police Department and Acting Chief at Opa-Locka Police Department.

His professional expertise spans active shooter scenarios, behavioral analysis, law enforcement supervision, and human trafficking prevention. Stroud is a certified firearms instructor through the DOJ, FBI, DEA, and NRA, and serves as a subject matter expert for organizations like the Federal Railroad Administration and National Highway Safety Administration.

Stroud's research focuses on human behavior's impact on professional outcomes, leadership development in public service, and ethics in administrative decision-making. He has been honored with induction into the National Law Enforcement Hall of Fame and maintains active roles on state-level boards including the Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board.
