University of Texas Southwestern Medical Centerمعرفی
Darryl Miles is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He leads clinical and translational research focused on pediatric acquired brain injury, neurodevelopmental outcomes, and neurocritical care. His work includes a five-year prospective cohort study sponsored by the Perot Center for Brain and Nerve Injury examining genetic and clinical factors affecting recovery after traumatic brain injury (TBI) in children.
Research Focus
Dr. Miles investigates:
- Pathophysiology of hypoxic-ischemic and traumatic brain injuries in pediatric populations
- Endogenous neural stem cell responses to CNS injury
- MRI/CT biomarkers for predicting long-term cognitive outcomes
- Clinical optimization of pediatric neurocritical care protocols
Publication Trends
His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on multicenter studies of pediatric TBI outcomes, neuroimaging applications, and evidence-based neurocritical care. Earlier foundational work explored molecular mechanisms of neural stem cell activation and neurogenesis post-injury.
Collaborations
Dr. Miles is an active member of the Pediatric Neurocritical Care Research Group (PNCRG), contributing to collaborative efforts to standardize and improve care for neurological emergencies in children.
