Darren Soanes

Darren Soanes is a researcher affiliated with the University of Exeter Medical School and currently works at the NIHR Exeter Biomedical Research Centre in the neurodegeneration theme. His career spans bioinformatics, comparative genomics, and transcriptomics research.

Soanes has extensive experience in analyzing sequence data for biological applications. His early work focused on fungal phytopathogens, including comparative genomics and transcriptional regulation of Magnaporthe grisea. Currently, he investigates neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s disease progression, using transcriptomic data from patient blood samples and long-read sequencing technologies to study epigenetic modifications.
