Darren Kusar is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago. He holds a PhD in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of Chicago (2024), focusing on early modern Italian musical theater and the intersection of demonology with sensory experience. His work bridges literary analysis, musicology, and historical phenomenology, with special attention to how the diabolical was staged in Counter-Reformation Italy.
