معرفی
Darren Johnson is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Oregon, College of Arts and Sciences. His research bridges coordination chemistry, organic synthesis, and materials science, focusing on supramolecular systems for environmental and biomedical applications.
- Education: B.S. (University of Texas, Austin, 1996), Ph.D. (University of California, Berkeley, 2000), Postdoctoral (The Scripps Research Institute, 2001–03)
Research Interests: Darren Johnson’s lab develops supramolecular tools to address challenges in toxic metal chelation, inorganic cluster synthesis, and anion-aromatic interactions. His work spans organic ligand design, inorganic coordination complexes, and applications in environmental remediation and thin-film electronics.
Publications & Collaborations: His recent work includes collaborations with Prof. Douglas A. Keszler at Oregon State University and Prof. Michael M. Haley’s lab at UO, advancing materials science applications like thin-film transistors and fluorescent sensors.
- Scientific Awards: Phi Beta Kappa, NIH Postdoctoral Fellow (2002–03), NSF CAREER Award (2006), Research Corporation Cottrell Scholar Award (2006), University of Oregon Fund for Faculty Members Excellence Award (2012).
Grants & Leadership: Active since joining UO in 2003, Johnson has secured grants like the NSF CAREER Award to fund interdisciplinary projects. His lab employs X-ray crystallography, NMR, and computational modeling to study nanoscale systems.
