Dr Darren Jeffers is a Senior Lecturer in Physical/Environmental Geography at the University of Winchester's Department of Social Sciences. He holds a D.Phil from the University of Oxford, where he studied environmental change in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley during the last glacial period. His teaching focuses on geography modules including Biogeography and Conservation, Desert Environments, and Research Methods.
His research investigates environmental change impacts on ecosystems, using lake sediments, tree rings, and museum collections. Current projects include Lebanon's Palm Islands environmental history and pollen nutrient content shifts under climate change.
