Darren J. N. Middleton is the Director of the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC) and Professor of Literature and Theology in the Honors College at Baylor University. He joined Baylor in 2022 after a 24-year tenure at TCU and five years as an instructor at Rhodes College, where he focused on honors education, teaching, and scholarship.

His research spans interdisciplinary studies of literature and theology, with notable works on Nikos Kazantzakis, Shusaku Endo, Graham Greene, Cormac McCarthy, and the Rastafari movement. He has authored or edited twelve books and over fifty articles/book chapters, reflecting his expertise in religious themes in global literature.
His recent article, "Ignatian Influences on Nikos Kazantzakis’s Askitiki" (2024), explores intersections of Christian spirituality and Greek literature. This aligns with his broader focus on theological interpretations of literary texts.
