Darren Dochuk is the Andrew V. Tackes College Professor of History and Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Notre Dame. He is also co-director of the Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism. His research focuses on the intersections of religion, politics, and the American West/Sunbelt in the long twentieth century, with a particular emphasis on energy (oil) and environmental history. He teaches courses on U.S. religious history, political history, and Cold War-era society.

His major works include Anointed With Oil (2019) and From Bible Belt to Sunbelt (2011), which won multiple prestigious awards. His research has been supported by the NEH, ACLS, and others. Dochuk explores global connections between religion, energy, and environmental politics in his ongoing projects.
