Darren Brouwer is a Professor of Chemistry at Redeemer University in Hamilton, Ontario. He teaches courses in chemistry and environmental science, conducts research on structure determination of materials using solid-state NMR and computational methods, and collaborates with students on water quality monitoring projects in local watersheds. His work also explores intersections between Christian faith, chemistry, culture, and creation care.

He also engages in community-based environmental research, analyzing nutrient pollution and sewage contamination in local waterways using analytical chemistry methods.
His recent publications highlight advancements in NMR crystallography, including novel applications for disordered materials, fluorinated polymers, and nanotubes.
