Darrell Irvine

Darrell Irvine is a Professor and Vice-Chair at the Department of Immunology & Microbiology at Scripps Research Institute. His research merges immunology, biotechnology, and materials chemistry to engineer immune responses for treating cancer and infectious diseases.

• Education: PhD in Polymer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Dr. Irvine’s lab specializes in immunoengineering, developing synthetic materials and nanotechnologies to enhance vaccines and engineer cancer immunotherapies. His work focuses on precise control over immune responses through chemical and materials biology strategies.
