Darrell D. Mousseau is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Saskatchewan. He leads the Cell Signalling Laboratory, focusing on biochemical mechanisms linking depression and Alzheimer's disease, with secondary interests in cancer signaling and neurodegenerative disorders.
- Education: B.Sc. (University of Guelph, 1982), Ph.D. (University of Alberta, 1991).
His research explores:
- Common biochemical pathways in depression and Alzheimer's disease
- Role of monoamine oxidase in neurodegeneration
- Impact of depression on breast cancer prognosis
- Protein interactions in neurodegenerative models
Recent publications highlight his interdisciplinary focus on:
- Alzheimer's disease progression and biomarkers
- Enzymatic regulation (MAO, PP2A)
- Sex-dependent signaling in neurodegeneration
- Nutritional interventions for neuroprotection
Scientific honors include:
